My Personal Motto Is --- Writers Write !

I mention this because if you’re here….you’ve likely completed the First Draft of your manuscript! CONGRATULATIONS

Very few people actually get this far. You’ve worked hard, but what comes next might actually be harder. I want you to take the script you just finished, copy it, and hand it (either digitally or in hard copy) to a variety of readers.

Don’t just hand them your script and say, “What d’ya think?” That’s not going to help with the task ahead. If you give your readers a list of questions about your script, you will start them down the road to useful critical commentary.

Your mom’s response may be predictable: “Honey, it’s just soooo great that you wrote this. I know I’m going to love it!” Thanks, but that’s not terribly helpful. What you WANT is pointed, very particular feedback on this draft because that’s how you will start the rewrite.
